How do I get the cat to like the family dog?

I don’t think that is a possibility. The cat wants to be #1. It is only natural. The dog could care less.Try keeping the dog out of the cats space. Have them meet in neutral terriotory.

The cat will have to make up her own mind. But introducing them on neutral territory might help.

Cats are stubborn, especially as they get older they adopt their own ways. It may take some time introducing the cat to the dog. I wouldnt interfere you may make mattters worse. Just give it some time and hopefully they will get along over a period of time.

Bringing a dog and cat together is often a hit or miss situation.
